Have you invited the Holy Spirit into your heart?

How do we know what God has prepared for us, what he is saying to us, the children of God? Is it enough to go to Church and absorb what we are taught. Is it enough to read the Bible, to Pray, to Meditate? I believe it is all of the aforementioned but with one very special guest. You must invite and receive the Holy Spirit into your heart.

Mark 1:9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

Mark 1:10 And straightaway coming out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit, like a dove descending upon him: 1:11 And there came a voice from heaven saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Mark 1:12 And immediately the spirit driveth him into the wilderness.

These passages in Mark define the moment that Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist and after receiving the Holy Spirit went into the wilderness for 40 day’s of fasting and several battles with Satan.

During the ninth hour of Jesus crucifixion, Jesus died on the cross. Matthew 27:50 Jesus when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the Ghost.

This is the Holy Spirt that Jesus Christ left for all of us as our Salvation before he ascended to Heaven after his resurrection. I received the Holy Spirit before I was aware of this great gift from Jesus. I was reeling from a lost job, lost family thru divorce, and no direction. I was truly a lost soul. I was laying in bed, trying to meditate, trying to find answers, trying to sleep, when I felt a warm sensation encircle my heart. It was a physical feeling, a true warming of the area around my heart. This was the night the Holy Spirit let his presence be known to me, a sort of wake up call.

Things didn’t change for me overnight but they certainly changed. Gone was the desire to drink alcohol, gone was sinful thoughts, gone was hatred and jealousy, gone was anxiety and worry. Arriving was a true inner Peace, Joy, and Love felt in my heart. Further discussion evolves around Corinthians I 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

Do you have the Holy Spirit in your heart? If you do, speak and ask often; Questions about God, about Jesus Christ, about praying and meditating better, about understanding the Bible, not just the words but the true meaning of the words. About how you can be better in the eyes of God and Jesus. I have daily and nightly discussions with the Holy Spirit, random times, random subjects and I usually get an answer or a result quickly.

Are you not sure if the Holy Spirit is in your heart? Pray and meditate. Plead with Jesus and God for the Holy Spirit to enter your heart. To make his presence known to you. You of course have to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and speak conviction of his crucifixion and resurrection and your belief and faith in Jesus.

Let’s Pray

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
